(Anaheim, CA)- Today, Log Cabin Republicans of Orange County officially announced their support of Kris Murray, candidate for Orange County’s third Supervisorial District.

“Kris has been a friend and ally of the LGBT community and has long supported marriage equality even before it became widely accepted. Kris led the fight alongside a fellow councilmember to fly the Pride Flag at Anaheim City Hall during Pride month,”said Kevin Santamaria, member of the Log Cabin Republicans of Orange County board. “Kris is emblematic of the type of Republican leader that is proud to respect and include the LGBT community in civic affairs, and the kind of Republican Orange County needs. As such, the Log Cabin Republicans of Orange County endorse Kris Murray for the Third Supervisorial District.”

Log Cabin Republicans are LGBT Republicans and straight allies who support equality under the law for all, free markets, individual liberty, limited government, and a strong national defense. Log Cabins believe working from inside the Republican Party—educating other Republicans about LGBT issues—is the most effective way to gain new Republican allies for equality.

“Throughout my career in public service, I have consistently put people before politics and fought for equality and civil rights of all residents,” said Supervisorial candidate Kris Murray. “The strength of Orange County’s future will depend on our ability to effectively represent people from all backgrounds, while simultaneously working together to find solutions for Orange County’s challenges. As Supervisor, I will continue to advocate for the respect and inclusion or our LGBT neighbors.”

Kris Murray is former Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem and City Councilwoman with more than 25 years of public service to Orange County. She and her husband Steve Murray are small business owners and live in Anaheim Hills with their son and two rescue dogs. The Murray’s spend family time volunteering at Seneca OC serving at-risk foster children, Boy Scouts, Little League, Anaheim Hills Community Council and at their son’s school.
