California State Senator Shannon Grove Endorses Kris Murray for Orange County Supervisor
January 8, 2019
ANAHEIM, CALIF — Today, California State Senator Shannon Grove endorsed Kris Murray for Orange County Supervisor. Senator Grove represents Kern, San Bernardino, and Tulare Counties and was elected in 2018 to the State Senate. Previously, she represented the same region for three terms as a distinguished member of the California State Assembly.
“Kris is the type of leader we need on the Orange County Board of Supervisors,” said Senator Grove. “She effectively led Anaheim for the last eight years and under her leadership, the city consistently balanced its budget, grew local jobs, and invested millions in public safety and neighborhoods. She will bring the same fiscal leadership to the County of Orange and has my full support.”
Over the past eight years as Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem and Council Member, Murray proved to be a trusted champion of hardworking taxpayers. She passed a charter amendment and resolutions that protected taxpayers from unnecessary tax hikes, and simultaneously advanced policies that drove $6 billion in development projects – generating thousands of skilled jobs and hundreds of millions in new city and county revenue.
“I am proud to have the endorsement of Senator Grove, a United States Army veteran and state legislator, who is passionate about service to state and nation. Her values focused on improving conditions for working families and improving economic conditions for small business are aligned with mine. I look forward to working in partnership with Senator Grove as Orange County Supervisor to serve the residents of Orange County and California,” stated Murray in response to Grove’s endorsement.
Murray is running in the special election to fill the remaining term of District 3, Orange County Board of Supervisors, vacated by Orange County District Attorney-Elect Todd Spitzer. The election date will be set shortly by the Board of Supervisors and is anticipated to be held in early March.
Kris Murray is former Anaheim Mayor Pro Tem and City Councilwoman with more than 25 years of public service to Orange County. She and her husband Steve Murray are small business owners and live in Anaheim Hills with their son Garrett and two rescue dogs, Bailey and Copper. The Murray’s spend family time volunteering at Seneca OC serving at-risk foster children, Boy Scouts, Little League, Anaheim Hills Community Council and at their son’s school.
